Medical Complications of Eating Disorders: Over 35 years

CE Hours 0.75

About this course

Eating disorders are unique amongst mental illnesses in that they are closely associated with many different medical complications. Yet, the medical findings in these disorders have not been well understood until recently. This session will offer a multi-decade look back on the early knowledge base for the different body systems adversely affected by eating orders and how they are understood. The treatments available for these complications will also be reviewed. Relevant diagnostic teachings will be shared in order to provide care providers with practical points to improve the medical care of their patients. Evidence based literature will be emphasized.
