  • Maureen Peterson
    Maureen is a Licensed Mental Health therapist, Washington State clinical supervisor, and Certified Eating Disorder specialist and consultant. She has worked in the mental health field since 1991 and has been a therapist since 1996. She has worked in community mental health, nonprofit services, corporate mental health, and private practice in a variety of settings including residential, home-based treatment, PHP, IOP, and outpatient. She has received extensive training in treating eating disorders, trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression through use of modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP, CFT, etc. Maureen has significant experience leading groups, teaching parenting classes, and providing clinical oversight and team management. She is a Child Mental Health Specialist and has worked with individuals across the lifespan. She is passionate about collaboration and consultation and has established long-lasting relationships with other providers such as dietitians and physicians in her community.

  • Joel Jahraus MD, CEDS-C, FIAEDP, FAED
    Dr. Joel Jahraus is Vice President of Medical Services at Monte Nido, supervising medical care in the Monte Nido programs. A board-certified physician for over 40 years, he is a recognized expert on medical complications of eating disorders and is known for his decades of specialization in the medical management of patients with eating disorders. He co-authored chapters on eating disorders in both the “Textbook of Psychosomatic Medicine” and “The Treatment of Eating Disorders: A Clinical Handbook” and testified at a U.S. Congressional briefing on the need for health insurance coverage for eating disorder treatment. He received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor and was named a Top Doctor by “U.S. News and World Report.” Dr. Jahraus graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri, with a background in family medicine.

  • Katherine Elder, PhD
    Katherine Elder, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Portland, Oregon. She specializes in evidence-based prevention, assessment, and treatment of eating disorders, works to reduce weight stigma in healthcare and community settings, and supports individuals with severe and enduring eating disorders in sustained recovery. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Eating Disorders and Obesity Research Program at the Yale University School of Medicine and brings over three decades of clinical, teaching and research experience to her work. Dr. Elder is a former Professor of Psychology at Pacific University, and previously served as Assistant Professor of Psychology and Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University, where she directed the Psychological and Behavioral Health Service within the Department of Surgery.

  • Luke J. Lindley, MD
    Dr. Luke Lindley is an attending Adolescent Medicine physician at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his pediatric residency training at Tripler Army Medical Center and his Adolescent Medicine Fellowship training at Brooke Army Medical Center. After completing Fellowship training, he served as a staff Adolescent Medicine physician at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington state, where he developed and maintained a subspecialty clinic devoted to the care of adolescents with eating disorders and other complex behavioral health conditions. After serving as Chief of Adolescent Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center, he separated from military service and returned to Brooke Army Medical Center as a civilian Adolescent Medicine physician, where he quickly established a weekly multidisciplinary eating disorder clinic. He is an Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University, and his primary areas of clinical and research interest include psychopharmacology, eating disorders, and the treatment of adolescent affective disorders.

  • Meghan Smith
    Meghan Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Psilocybin Facilitator in Oregon. She has been working in the eating disorder field her entire career at various levels of care including PHP, IOP and outpatient. She works from both a harm-reduction and full recovery is possible approach depending on client's wants and needs. She is constantly interested in new research, therapies and methods to improve the treatment of eating disorders. She enjoys a team collaboration approach despite being in a solo private practice setting. She believes in constantly questioning everything to grow both as a clinician and a human.
