About this event
Participants will explore the complex sociocultural factors that shape clients’ experiences and gain practical strat-egies for delivering care that is both respectful and attuned to these nuances. While many clinicians acknowledge that standardized, “one-size-fits-all” approaches are inadequate, there remains a tendency to rely on familiar evi-dence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, without critically evaluating their cultural rele-vance or effectiveness across diverse populations.
This presentation encourages clinicians to reflect on their therapeutic assumptions and consider alternative frameworks, assessment tools, and interventions that may better serve clients from underserved communities. Through case studies and interactive dialogue, attendees will be invited to challenge conventional practices and discover how intentional, culturally informed care can lead to more equitable and effective outcomes.
