Katherine Elder, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Portland, Oregon. She specializes in evidence-based prevention, assessment, and treatment of eating disorders, works to reduce weight stigma in healthcare and community settings, and supports individuals with severe and enduring eating disorders in sustained recovery. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Eating Disorders and Obesity Research Program at the Yale University School of Medicine and brings over three decades of clinical, teaching and research experience to her work. Dr. Elder is a former Professor of Psychology at Pacific University, and previously served as Assistant Professor of Psychology and Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University, where she directed the Psychological and Behavioral Health Service within the Department of Surgery.
