Leah Stiles is a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief, international keynote speaker, and #1 bestselling author of Battle Scars & Body Wars: A Personal and Professional Journey Shining a Light on Eating Disorders in the Military. She is the Founder and CEO of SEA WAVES, the nation’s first and only nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to addressing eating disorders within the military community. A nationally recognized lived experience expert, Leah draws on more than 20 years of military service, as well as her experiences as a military spouse and military mother, to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and the realities of military life.
After navigating her own eating disorder in silence, Leah transformed her experience into a national movement to improve awareness, reduce stigma, strengthen early identification, and expand access to care for service members, veterans, and military families. Through SEA WAVES, she has developed innovative education initiatives, built strategic partnerships across the military and behavioral health communities, and become a trusted voice on the intersection of eating disorders, military culture, and suicide prevention.
