James Hitchen is a therapist specialising in eating disorders, addiction and related mental health difficulties. He is the founder and Clinical Director of The Wellbeing & Recovery Collective (TWRC), a UK-based organisation providing online therapy, programmes and recovery support.
James combines his clinical experience with a background in business to develop support that is practical, accessible and shaped around the needs of each person. His approach draws on a range of evidence-based therapies, while recognising that recovery rarely follows a straightforward path.
He has a particular interest in the experiences of men with eating disorders and is committed to improving understanding, reducing stigma and making it easier for people to ask for help.
Alongside his clinical work, James speaks on eating disorders, addiction and recovery, and works with treatment providers in the UK and internationally to improve continuity of care.
Outside work, James lives by the sea and values spending time there with his family.
